Christina and Brandon
Hello! We are Christina and Brandon. Thank you for taking the time to get to know us. We recognize you must be going through a mix of emotions, and we admire your courage as you make these tough decisions for your child's future. Whatever path you choose, know that we respect and support you wholeheartedly.
Our journey began in 2016 in San Francisco. We met online, and instantly clicked over shared passions: swimming, traveling, cooking, eating, crafting, board games, movies, and Broadway shows. What solidified our bond was discovering on our first date that we were both adoptees. That night, we talked about handling life's surprises and our mutual desire to adopt. Over the past 8 years, we have faced life's ups and downs – from losing our moms to buying our first home to adopting our fur baby, Waffle. These experiences have shaped us into a resilient, unwavering team, ready to embrace the joys and challenges of parenthood.
Our adoption stories offer us unique insights into identity and culture. Christina’s open adoption has fostered a cherished bond with her birth family. Brandon, a transracial adoptee, draws from his international adoption and upbringing with a mom from Wisconsin and a dad from Montana, deepening his connection to his Korean heritage. Christina's upbringing with a Chinese-Hawaiian dad and a Chinese-Brazilian mom has given her a rich cultural background. These experiences have instilled in us a deep appreciation for diversity and inclusion. Our child will feel embraced and celebrated for who they are.
Christina is the creative force and planner in our dynamic duo. As a special education teacher, she brings compassion and enthusiasm to everything she does. Whether she's quilting up a storm, whipping up a new recipe, or planning our next trip, her zest for life is contagious. Brandon, on the other hand, is our steady anchor. A meticulous project manager at LinkedIn by day and an avid builder (i.e. Lego, woodworking) and gaming enthusiast by night. Together, we balance each other out, forming a solid foundation for our family.
Our home is in the Outer Sunset of San Francisco where the beach is our backyard. A typical weekend with our child will look like a mix of lazy mornings, beachside strolls with Waffle, picnics in Golden Gate Park, culinary explorations in the city, and family game nights filled with laughter and friendly competition. We look forward to monthly visits to Christina's childhood home in San Jose where our child will experience family gatherings, backyard BBQs, and pool time under the watchful eye of two certified lifeguards - us! We are eager to explore new horizons with our child, creating lasting memories in familiar and new settings alike.
While our network of extended family and friends living close by provides constant love and support, we also treasure our connections with those far away, such as Christina’s sister in Ireland and Brandon’s dad in Montana. Weekly family Zoom calls that started during Covid have become a tradition, allowing us to feel connected despite the distance. We're thankful to travel and visit loved ones at least twice a year, if not more. Our shared passion for travel has led us on adventures across the U.S. and around the world, with a goal of visiting every Disney theme park – we're already four down!
We promise to honor your child's connection to you, embracing the beauty of open adoption. Your child will grow up surrounded by love, laughter, and endless opportunities to thrive and explore. Thank you for considering us. We're eager to learn more about you and your hopes and dreams. Feel free to call us toll free anytime at 1-888-CNB-0212. Warmest wishes,
Christina and Brandon
