Hi! We’re Lee and Russell.

 

First, we know that you have a lot to think about, and we admire your courage and strength during this difficult time. Thank you for the opportunity to tell our story. We hope that this letter provides you with a glimpse into our lives and shows you our commitment to building a loving and nurturing home for your child. 

 

Our journey began in 2017 where we instantly connected as both of us were Los Angeles natives, close to our families, loved to eat, and had deep rooted connections to our cultures. We soon moved together where Russell became a stepdad to our special needs boxer pug and our cat. We married a few years later and settled into our new home in northeast Los Angeles filled with great schools, a diverse community, and an eclectic mix of artists and nature.

 

While both of us grew up in Los Angeles’ separate “Valleys,” our life stories are connected by our relationship to our cultures and pursuit of our passions and dreams. Lee was born in the Philippines and grew up in the San Fernando Valley. His passion for art led him to attend the Academy of Art in San Francisco for college. He lived in the Bay Area for 17 years and is now a creative director. Russell grew up in the San Gabriel Valley. After college, he lived in Japan as an English teacher and later pursued his dream of working in the video game industry where he now does marketing.

 

Our families are our center, and we visit them often along with frequent calls and texts. We also enjoy hanging out with our friends by going to a new restaurant or an event or vacationing. Our top destinations are Hawaii, Mexico, Miami, and New York. We go on family vacations every other year to Hawaii (either on Maui or Oahu) where our parents have time-share. 

 

We look forward to becoming dads! With support from our family, friends, and community, our child will be surrounded by love and laughter. We plan to share our entire world with the child such as traveling on family trips, taking them to museums, and trying new foods. We’re also excited to introduce our child to our fur family.
