Micki & Parham
Hi! We’re Micki & Parham. We admire the difficult choice you are considering for your child and want to thank you in advance for taking the time to learn more about us. We are so excited to expand our family and welcome a baby into our lives through adoption.
We have been together since 2011 and live in Pleasant Hill, CA, a San Francisco Bay Area suburb. When we met, Parham was living in Berlin at the time, while I was in San Francisco, so we started a long distance relationship. This lasted 2 years, but we persevered through regular visits, daily Skype calls & many text messages. We tied the knot in March 2019 in Gilroy, CA in front of 140 of our closest friends & family. We tried to expand our family biologically, but after a couple of years and an unexplained infertility diagnosis, we decided the path of adoption was the right one for us.
We purchased our home in Jan 2020 & our neighborhood is quiet and tree-lined. You rarely see cars drive by, instead a regular flow of neighbors walking their dogs or kids to one of the many parks, playgrounds, or trails nearby. Our home itself is a 3 bed, 2 bath ranch style house with a spare room that is perfect & ready to become a nursery! The real highlight of the house is our beautiful backyard. We love spending time out there with family & friends, eating al fresco on warm summer nights & tending to our garden.
Micki is a San Francisco native, raised by a very large, boisterous & close-knit Filipino-American family. Celebrating every birthday, holiday & everything in between together, family is, and always will be, the most important thing to her. She is a researcher by trade, helping corporate clients establish partnerships with cutting edge startups to create new products & services. What she looks forward to most about being a mom is teaching our child new skills like cooking, crafting & sports, exploring the world together & dance parties!
Parham was born in Tehran, Iran but moved to the US when he was 3. He has a small, but extremely close family consisting of himself, mom, dad & younger brother. Quality time is a vital part of their dynamic – so much so, they still enjoy family dinner together 2x per week. He is an Executive Consultant, helping clients with their supply chain, business operations & financial planning. What he looks forward to most about being a dad is exploring the outdoors together, teaching our child about plants & animals, and supporting their interest & talents. He is so excited to show them the world of possibilities.
Our families know all about our plans to adopt and they can’t wait to have an addition to the family – they are all already fighting over who gets to babysit first!
We have a cat and dog named The Great Catsby & Mila. Both are rescues with their own unique & quirky personalities. Catsby loves to sit at the table and eat dinner with us every night, while Mila is the sweetest cuddle bug you will ever meet. They are beyond excited and can't wait to share their love with a baby brother or sister!
We have an amazing and diverse set of friends that span the globe, including Germany, France & Italy. Many are local so weekends are typically spent having picnics, hiking, or just hanging out. Most of them have young children so we know our child will not only be surrounded by our family, but a group of honorary aunts, uncles & cousins that will love him or her & greet them with open arms.
Again, thank you for taking the time to read about us & considering us as adoptive parents for your child. We promise they will know and respect the difficult decision you’ve made and that it was made out of love & courage. We will always value the relationship you want to have with them. We also promise to love our child unconditionally and never take for granted the gift we’ve been given, the gift of parenthood. If you would like to speak with us, we would love to hear from you.
